Walnut Chocolate Chip Cookies

JuChocolatey & Chewy,  these cookies are SUPER yummy!

Yield: 24 cookies

1/2 cup butter, softened

1/2 cup coconut oil, melted

1 cup granulated sugar

1 cup light brown sugar

2 eggs

2 tsp. vanilla extract

3 cups all-purpose flour

1 tsp. baking soda

2 tsp. hot water

1/2 tsp. salt

2 cups dark chocolate chips

1 cup walnuts, chopped


Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

Beat the butter, coconut oil, granulated sugar, and light brown sugar, until creamed. Beat in the eggs, one at a time and mix in the vanilla extract. Then, dissolve the baking soda in hot water. Stir the baking soda until completely incorporated. Add this to batter with the salt, flour, chocolate chips, and walnuts. Onto un-greased baking sheets, scoop batter evenly  about 1 inch apart. Put into oven one sheet at a time.

Bake for 10 minutes in oven. Enjoy!

Just so you know, originally, my recipe called for 1 cup of butter, but to make these cookies healthier, I replaced it with 1/2 cup of coconut oil. This particular oil leaves no “coconut” taste whatsoever and is a LOT healthier for you than just butter. That’s what makes my Walnut Chocolate Chip Cookies different than all the other recipes you’ll find on the internet!
